The children have been working hard in all of their subject areas this year. The following is an overview of some of the things we have been working on in class.
Reading
In reading, we have been looking at non-fiction books and discussing the differences between fiction and non-fiction.
Math
We have been looking for patterns in numbers in math. The children have been skip counting to 100 and making tables to find patterns.
Science
We have started work on the new GemsNet science kit New Plants. We planted our Brassica seeds last week and and are documenting our predictions and observations.
Social Studies
We will be working on a final family project to wrap up our family and traditions unit. Part of this will require some work at home. I will send home more details as we get closer.
Spelling
The children have done a wonderful job with the new spelling program. Spelling lists will continue to come home on Mondays with most homework due on Thursdays. Spelling tests will be given on Fridays.
